This course encourages you to reflect on your teaching and gives you the confidence and expertise to explore and develop further. 

It includes online discussions, reading, analysing films, creating and using resources and reflecting on your individual situation and skills. You will have time to engage with self-improvement and evaluation, reflect on your learning to date and where you want to go next, and engage with other teachers so you can share experiences and learn from each other.

If you're just starting out as an instrumental or vocal teacher, then this is the course for you.  Whether you have two or forty pupils, this course will give you the confidence, expertise and knowledge to become a successful teacher. 

The course involves 18 hours of study in the form of online discussions, reading, analysing films, creating and using resources and reflecting on your individual situation and skills. 

You will gain a thorough overview of the role and responsibilities of being a music teacher. You will hear how other teachers have used their passion for music as inspiration for their teaching identity, develop your communication skills, prepare for every learner as an individual, learn how to maintain high levels of wellbeing throughout your career, and gain the tools you need to succeed in your teaching.

This course will extend your instrumental and vocal teaching knowledge and challenge your thinking around different subjects.

Whether you are a private teacher with a thriving studio, work for a music organisation or enjoy teaching a small number of pupils this course is for you. It includes online discussions, reading, analysing films, using resources and reflecting on your individual situation and skills. 

This course is for Primary School teachers who want to develop their musical skills for use in the classroom. 

By the end of the course, you will have developed a strong understanding of pulse and rhythm, feel more confident using your voice in the classroom, and have designed your own strategies for teaching music. There is the opportunity for you to engage with other teachers, sharing expertise and resources with those from around the world. The modules are presented in a variety of ways, including films, podcasts, articles, presentations and quizzes.

This course unpacks Classroom 200, demonstrating how it can be used creatively and simply in the classroom. 

Classroom 200 is a free online resource for music teachers working with learners up to the age of 14 and can be used in the classroom as well as in instrumental and vocal lessons.

Performing & singing, listening and composing are taken in turn, and we will discover how skills are developed from through primary and secondary school using Classroom 200, by directly relating it to your curriculum and the aims of your teaching. By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently use Classroom 200 in your music making, and you will leave the course with many practical examples of how it supports children to progress with their music making.
